Alycia Pyle- Academy Manager

Alycia was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She has been married to her husband, James since 2012 and they have four children together. Alycia and her family relocated to McMinnville, Oregon in 2021 after wanting a change for their family. Shortly after moving, her two older sons decided to give Jiu Jitsu a try and she says, “it has been the best thing that ever happened to our family! They have gained so much confidence, knowledge, friends, and ultimately a sense of belonging at Impact. Jiu Jitsu has truly given us more than we ever expected, and the community has become family. I sat in the lobby watching my boys’ classes for two years, seeing their growth week after week. When the opportunity to work at Impact Jiu Jitsu opened, I was so excited thinking of the shift from being a spectator to being help within the community. To any parent wondering if jiu jitsu is right for your child- give it a try and see how excited your child is to walk into that building and bow onto the mats. The jiu jitsu journey may start out as a fun extracurricular activity, but it may turn into their greatest passion where they strive to become a black belt, being mentored by some of the best coaches they could ever ask for. Sign the waiver.”

Shyla White- Front Desk Coordinator

Shyla spent half of her childhood in Florida before moving to Oregon, where she attended school in the Willamina School District. She has been married to her husband, Tyler since 2014 and they have two girls together. After hearing about Impact Jiu Jitsu from a friend, their daughter joined and has been loving it since 2021, gaining confidence and a drive to compete. Shyla says, “It has been a life changing experience for my family, being part of such a great community has been a blessing. My other daughter joined Impact’s tumbling program when it launched and has been enjoying every minute of her classes. To any parents considering whether to have their children join jiu jitsu, I would say give it a try and you won’t regret it. An interesting fact about myself, is my husband got me hooked on hunting and it is now one of our favorite things to do together.”

Carlos was born and raised in McMinnville, Oregon and has three older siblings. Carlos started training jiu jitsu with us in January, 2024 and has never stopped loving it. Carlos is also a big music lover, with his favorites including Funk and Blues. Some of his favorite artist are Delegation, Gary Moore, and B.B. King.  When asked what he would say to someone who is looking to start jiu jitsu, Carlos said, “Go for it! It’s not only going to help you lose weight if that is your goal, but it’s also going to help boost your confidence. You’re going to be shocked to see what your body and mind are capable of.” A fun fact about Carlos is that he’s currently working on restoring his fathers 1977 Ford LTD II.
